Privacy Policy

Build It (builditapp.com) is a Minecraft build tutorial site. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Short version: we collect what we need to run the site and nothing shady.

What we collect

• Account information. When you create an account we collect your username, email address, and any profile details you choose to add (avatar, bio, profile posts).
• Payment information. PRO memberships are processed by Stripe or PayPal, our payment providers. Your card number goes directly to them and never touches our servers. We keep records of your orders (what you bought, when, and the membership status).
• Content you post. Comments, likes, profile posts and any images you upload are stored on the site and shown publicly with your username.
• Usage data. Like most websites we collect standard analytics: pages visited, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type. We use this to understand what people enjoy and to keep the site fast.
• Cookies. We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, measure traffic, and serve advertising (see below). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though login will stop working without them.

How we use it

• To run the site: accounts, PRO access, comments, profiles.
• To process payments and send receipts and account emails.
• To improve the site based on what gets used.
• To keep the site secure and fight spam and bots.

We do not sell your personal information.

Services we rely on

These companies process some data on our behalf to make the site work:

• WordPress.com (Automattic) hosts the site.
• Cloudflare provides security and content delivery.
• Stripe and PayPal process payments.
• Google Analytics measures site traffic.
• Journey by Mediavine manages advertising (next section).

Each of these has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data.

Advertising

We work with Journey by Mediavine to serve ads on the site. Mediavine and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your visits here and on other websites in order to show ads that are more relevant to you. This can include your IP address, device identifiers, and browsing activity.

You can learn more in the Mediavine privacy policy, and you can opt out of personalized advertising at optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org. Depending on where you live, you may also see a consent banner letting you accept or refuse advertising cookies.

Your rights

• You can view and edit your profile information at any time from your account.
• You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• You can ask us to delete your account and its data. Email us and we will take care of it. Some records (like payment history) may be kept where the law requires it.

Children

Build It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Accounts and purchases require the involvement of someone 13 or older (or the age required in your country). If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Data retention and security

We keep your data for as long as your account exists, plus whatever the law requires for payment records. Access to site data is protected with strong authentication, and payments are handled entirely by Stripe.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes to this policy we will update this page and the date at the top.
