About the 2×2 Door v1.0
Build a compact 2x2 piston door in Minecraft and give your base an automatic entrance. This design uses four sticky pistons to pull the door’s red concrete blocks sideways, creating a two-block-wide, two-block-high passage. Pressure plates on both sides make it convenient to enter and exit without reaching for a button or lever.
The mechanism combines redstone dust, two redstone torches, and four pressure plates, with the main wiring tucked beneath the floor. Its symmetrical layout keeps the circuit easy to inspect as you build, making this a useful project for learning how a simple redstone door fits together.
With this easy-to-follow Minecraft tutorial, you can recreate the build step by step using the interactive 3D viewer. Rotate the model to check piston directions, examine the wiring below the entrance, and see how each layer connects before moving on.
Add the doorway to a storage room, underground corridor, or base entrance, leaving space around it for the pistons and wiring. The red concrete gives the door a distinct appearance, while the compact mechanism offers a practical introduction to adding automation to your Minecraft builds.
